Monday

Twenty

The lower garden's starting to really take shape.

Nineteen

A whole lot of garden soil (three large truck loads) delivered and waiting to be shovelled into the garden beds... That's it for the large deliveries of landscape material.

Wednesday

Eighteen

We decided on the Wattyl colour, Stoneleigh. The customized capping is finished in the main garden as well. Still looks great... By the way, that's the supervisor making sure all the work is done up to her specifications...

Seventeen

The customized 'overhang' concrete capping is finished. Looks great. Also, these are the three colours we're deciding between...

Sixteen

The new chandelier in the lounge. So much nicer than what was there before...

Fifteen

A few 'reclaimed' Murraya from the old garden and planted in the side garden. A heavy schedule of watering, fetilizing with a concoction of Miracle Grow and Seaweed Extract should have these looking healthy in no time.

Fourteen

A lot of block work's been done. The garden shape is starting to take effect.

Thirteen

The 'Lower Garden' box will be planted with Magnolia 'Little Gem' with an underplanting of Buxus microphylla. The Buxus will join up and form sections around the Magnolia.

Twelve

The block work for the 'Lower Garden' is in place. Next is the cement capping (around the top) which will finish off the garden bed nicely.

Eleven

A mirror from Black & Spiro. An interesting note, we found a Welsh newspaper from 1902 inbetween the mirror and the backing board.

Ten

This is 'The Lower Garden'. It has been cleared of a mixture of plants (Duranta, Ixora, Acalypha etc). The plan is for a raised garden bed with a formal style plantings.

Nine

I've decided to use the beautifully glossy, Viburnum 'Emerald Lustre' as a screen/hedge along one of the fence lines.

Eight

The blocks are almost in place for the vegetable garden.

Friday

Seven

Lots of gravel. Lots of sand. More foundations, and the start of the step is in place...

Six

Four hundred and twenty-two concrete blocks delivered. And the foundations are starting to be prepared.

Sunday

five

After the clear out. A few loads of plants and green waste taken away. Ready to start...

Friday

four

This is the first rough sketch of my vision for our garden.

three

Now for the garden. When we bought the house the garden was a cottage style/no dig garden. A mix of cuttings and bought plants, no grass, just gravel and stones. An interesting garden, if you like that kind of thing...
