Rain cut the day short. But, before the washout the builders finished off the side stairs and ripped out a door... So today was the first time we could use the new verandah.
Thursday
Day Eighteen....
Busy day. The roofers were supposed to start today, but it's been put back to next week. So, the builders concreted the verandah stumps (finally), knocked out our back steps, half erected our new side steps and spilt a hell of a lot of oil based undercoat...
Day Seventeen....
No builders on site today. But, the scaffolders came to get everything ready and safe for the roof to go up. I had to butcher the large Murraya near our front verandah for some scaffold space.
Tuesday
Day Sixteen....
Friday
Day Fourteen....
Not much action today. Only one apprentice was left on the site. But, the new verandah rails were finished.

Day Ten....
The work turned to the existing back deck, with the majority of the old railings removed and replaced with smart new ones.

Day Seven....
Just about all the work was done on the inside today. The old door that lead to the front verandah was removed and boarded up. The framework which seperates the 'new' bathroom and the sunroom was built. And the frame for the cavity slider door was put in place.
Tuesday
Day Six....
A lot of work done today. The verandah's roofline is starting to take shape. Work started inside. All the skirting boards and window edging was removed. Some framework was assembled.
Day Five....
Heavy rain washed out the day. But a bit of work was done beforehand.
And a big stretch after a hard days work.

Thursday
Day Four...
The most visually productive day of the build (so far). The frame work for the side verandah was erected in no time. They even put down a fair portion of the floor boards.
Day Two...
Not much action. The two apprentices were left to tidy up the holes. They removed some lattice work from the rear verandah, and soiled the downstairs toilet. Below is a picture of one of the holes.
Renovation : Preparation
We needed to remove the Duranta 'Sheena's Gold' hedge in readiness for the start of stage one of the build.
