Sunday

Weekend (two)....

Visited Slaughter Falls this weekend. It really takes it out of me...

Weekend (one)....

Purchased some nice lights for the toilet, powder room (the top picture x 2) and the pantry (bottom picture).

Day Forty....

No builders today... Carly did heaps of undercoating.

Saturday

Day Thirty-Nine....

Only one builder on site. Most of the new floor boards were laid in the sunroom.

Thursday

Day Thirty-Eight....

Only a couple of hours work today. The floor boards in the kitchen were removed. They revealed a couple of floor beams that will need replacing and a pile of half eaten macadamia nut shells.

Day Thirty-Seven....

No builders on site today. Carly finished off the undercoating of the french doors.

Day Thirty-Six....

The small amount of aesbethos was removed from the kitchen. Carly put the first undercoat on the french doors.

Monday

Weekend....

Stella needs to look her best for the builders. I get shampooed and lathered up down the private beach on a Sunday. It's quite tiring.

Day Thirty-Five....

Only one builder on site. Who fixed up a few small things and got the bathroom ready for tiling.

Thursday

Day Thirty-Four....

The builders tidied up and removed the piles of wood from the yard. A couple of little things were done but not much. The glazier fitted the new clear glass in the old kitchen windows.

Day Thirty-Three....

Just a few odds and ends were completed today, nothing worth photographing. But, this is a view from the lounge through the sunroom out the new french doors.

Tuesday

Day Thirty-Two....

French doors. Two frosted windows. And all the weatherboards were put up on the new verandah.

Day Thirty-One....

Not much action. Some of the verandah weatherboards were put up outside the new bathroom.

Sunday

Weekend....

We've decided on the exterior lights for the verandah, and the new light for the dining room.

Day Thirty....

The weatherboards were put in place across the kitchen & dining room walls.

Friday

Day Twenty-Nine....

The windows and french doors arrived. They were fitted in the kitchen and dining room. A few floor boards were removed from the dining room.

Thursday

Day Twenty-Eight....

The electrical wiring for the lights and appliances was installed. The bathroom and kitchen plumbing was readied. And the gas piping was fitted and the framework around the windows was also completed.

Tuesday

Day Twenty-Seven....

The dividing wall between the dining room and kitchen was removed. The old roof beams & the dining room wall (including the old french doors) were taken out. Now the fridge is in the hallway.

Monday

Day Twenty-Six....

The kitchen was dismantled today. The wall, benches and windows all removed.

Weekend....

Even after a hard week on the building site, Stella can still find time for sand and socializing.

Day Twenty-Five....

The Roofers almost finished the roof. It looks good. The builders leveled out the bathroom floor ready for tiling. And built the casing for around the bath.

Friday

Day Twenty-Four....

Rainy conditions prevented the roofers from roofing today. Only one builder was on site, and he fixed up the problem with the side stairs. Looks good.

Wednesday

Day Twenty-Three....

The roofers finally arrived. More than half the roof was completed. And the railings on the side stairs went up. They look a bit odd.

Day Twenty-Two....

The roofers pulled out again. But, the usual builders showed up with the man we call the 'human wrecking ball'.  Whenever he shows up, a lot of structural difference is to made to the house.

  • So, most of the outside cladding was removed from the sunroom.
  • The inside framework for the new bathroom and sunroom was erected.
  • The framework for the outside wall of the new kitchen was assembled.
  • The new side steps were finished off.

Day Twenty-One....

The roofers were supposed to start today. It was quite windy so that was postponed (again). It was probably for the best as it rained during the afternoon. Anyway, the tin was delivered in the morning all set to go.

Sunday

Weekend....

All these stressful weeks are up catching up the site foreman. A bit of rock climbing and swimming is how she unwinds.
